Childcare

Pre-school (3 years plus)

Within pre-school, the children’s learning and development is further guided by the holistic approach of the Foundation Stage. Our provision reflects the four themes and the sixteen commitments which make up the Early Years Foundation Stage. We ensure that all children are supported through their learning journey and activities and opportunities are adapted to meet their individual and unique needs.

In order for children to learn successfully they need to be in a secure environment, which is physically comfortable. Children can spend long days in the nursery and need to have space where they can relax and rest. Young children make learning connections  in their brain faster and more effectively  in an enriched environment.

Adult interactions, which help support and extend their learning, make a big difference to learning, as does physical activity during sessions. Whilst we adhere to the curriculum guidelines, planning is deliberately kept flexible, and much of the day is spent in open ended, free-flow play. This allows us to work towards meeting each child’s individual needs and foster their own unique identity

A day in the life of our pre-school discoverers

Our pre-schoolers thrive on sensory stimulation. They are eager to make differentiations between sounds, experimenting with their own voices and making imaginative play a daily routine.

Also Children love to make up stories with puppets or figures and are skilled in adopting different characters.

All children love any opportunities to explore textures and their creative, their artistic talents never cease to amaze us. We provide as many opportunities as possible for them to experiment with light, composition and colour. Children freely select their choice of media and their imaginations create masterpieces.

We ensure that the children are independent and confident individuals. hey take direct responsibility for setting the table at meal times, serving themselves, preparing  morning snacks  and tea-time, as well as pouring their own drinks.

Fostering Sensory Development

We ensure that children’s sensory development is allowed to fly. Children’s brain development is heightened when they experience a broad range of activities that allow their vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell to co-ordinate. Activities such as making a birdfeeder, or feeling fine sand or lentils  pour through their hands are all perfect opportunities to engage a child’s senses.
