Getting ready for starting school…

The lead up to starting ‘big school’ can be an apprehensive time for children and parents alike. We understand the worries parents feel when their child is due to start school – so in preparation we aim to make sure all of the children leaving us to start primary or infant school are well and truly 'school ready’. By providing children with stimulating activities similar to those provided in primary/infant schools currently, we are able to offer the children continuity – we promote knowledge of phonics through games and songs, and understanding of mathematics through a range of resources and concepts. However, our biggest aim is to support children to be emotionally ready to deal with the rigours of school: being independent, confident and social.

How can you help encourage your child to be ready to learn and excited about ‘BIG school’?
